Whats up. Long time in between updates as always. A lot of stuff going on, so here is what I can fill in for now...

The Strats have gone in the closet!! When I was younger my main guitar for years and years was a BC Rich Gunslinger until the guitar ended up falling apart and I have always complained that I wanted that guitar back. Well...They are back!!! I am so happily playing the BC Rich Gunslinger again!! Go to their website www.BcRich.Com and check out the Gunslinger Power. Updates of my gear will be up in about a week also. There has been some major changes to my rig in the last 6 months. I have changed a lot of stuff making my life a little easier and sounding way better!

My new Cd The Earth Says Hello is available at all of your fine internet shops and should be in the stores in the US sometime soon (As I've said before). Just waiting on the word from Progressive Arts to say when. "Earth" is a Cd/DVD package. The DVD has live and studio footage.

Going in to the studio at the end of the month to do "Stepping Stone"
for a Jimi Hendrix tribute album. It will be the Doug Stapp band (Scott Weltner, Kory Prince) on the track plus a vocalist. Not sure who is singing yet. The album will be released by BHP.

Check my Myspace for all live dates coming up. I am about to updates the hell out of that. We have been playing alot lately, so come check us out!

Thats enough for now. Go check out the Bc Rich page and look at the coolest Gunslingers on earth, go listen to my new cd if you don't own it yet, come see us live if we are in your State and hope you have a great day!

Another late update by me! I am really bad at doing these. I apologize.

First off "The Earth Says Hello" is off and running and you can pick it up here in States on websites like Guitar 9, Amazon, Itunes, ect... It should be in stores anytime but I haven't been told a date yet.

I am about to do "Freeway Jam" for a Jeff Beck tribute album for BHP music (Same people who did Guitar Masters Vol.1). I am teaming up with Rowan Robertson (Of the Dio "Lock up the wolves" fame) to do a serious kick in the ass version of the song. We are going to start cranking it out after Thanksgiving.

Also, Check my myspace (www.MySpace.Com/DougStapp) for live dates between now and Christmas for the various bands I play in.

If you are wondering why I disappeared again, my wife and I just had a daughter, so its been busy! So now we have one son, one daughter, 5 cats, 1 dog and a house that is always 100 miles an hour. More music on the way! Oh! I finally get to see the new Van Halen tour in January, so I am already pumped about that. I've seen the Sammy and Gary version but never Roth (too young) so I can't wait. I'll be like a crazed N'Sync fan crying and singing all night.

Anyhow, Happy Holidays and have a great rest of 2007!

The track can also be heard on the release "Guitar Masters Vol. #1", along with Steve Morse, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, John Scofield and others. Scott Stine and I's version of "Frankenstein" is on there along with amazing songs by Zakk Wylde, Joe Satriani, Jeff Beck, Steve Morse and the list keeps on going! Great Cd, so go out and buy one!

My new Cd "The Earth Says Hello" will finally be released this summer. I am very excited about the release of this crazy record, so more info coming this week. Sound clips are below.

I've acquired a ton of new great gear! I'll get some pictures of this week. I am using Peavey 6505 heads and matching cabs for every gig now, Peavey Hp flat top guitars and since Ibanez released the 20th Anniversary RG 550, I quickly swiped one of those up since my old 550 broke years ago. That was main guitar for many, many years till I snapped the wood out of the tremolo area. Very happy to have one back!

My Birthday present was the new Kiss toothbrush that plays "Rock And Roll All Night" when you brush. Best present ever!

Hello again!! I'm back from my non-stop whirlwind tour of the roads of Texas. We just finished recording the new Cd! Mixdown will happen in a few weeks and the CD will be released late August. I'll post album title and songs up here in the next month or so.

The Cd was a blast and was recorded in the most part of 3-4 days. Pretty fast huh! We recorded the Cd as a true Trio and for he most part stays true to that (a few tunes with harmonies). Here is a breakdown of whom did (or is doing) what...

Scott Weltner - Drums
Kory Prince - Bass
Carlos Savateman - Drum/Bass Engineer
Rob Weschler - Guitar Engineer, Editing, Mixing,
Mastering.

You know Scott from the drumming on our version of Frankenstein, Kory has been playing with me for some time and this will be his first real recording with me, Carlos owns a fabulous studio called SoundoMatic in Dallas and Rob Weschler ows Wextrax Studio in Mckinney, TX and is the genius behind the great guitar tones we got. You might know Rob from all those great sounding Andy Timmons records. Thanks to Andy also for loaning us 30 feet of speaker cable! Thanks to Scott Stine also for letting me steal his 1968 Marshall cab for part of the guitar tone!! If you are interested all guitar tones were recorded (simultaneously) with Laney GH100L and VH100R heads, Laney GS412IS and Scott's '68 Marshall 4X12.

Anyhow, new record will be done and in my hands by the first of July. I'll be able to share more after that!

Thanks for reading! - Doug
